While we visit prisoners all over the world, in Mpulungu our OM teams also bring them food. That’s because prisoners here are kept from days to months at a time with no food and no toilet facilities either. The government crowds them into a cell with 20+ men and gives them a bucket or bag for sanitation. For several years, local OM workers from Lake Tanganyika have brought food and the gospel to prisoners here, 6 days a week. For many, this is the only meal they receive.
